Dear Colleagues,
We welcome you to submit manuscripts to this featured Special Issue of the section "Life Stage Specific Medicine (LSSM)" of the Journal of Personalized Medicine (ISSN 2075-4426). Please refer to the description of this Special Issue when preparing your manuscripts, although the topics of interest for publication are not limited to those described below.
The human lifespan is divided into different life stages. However, in humans, the extension of the lifespan has traditionally focused on the aging stage. Recently, the concept of the extension of the human lifespan based on the principal law of lifespan (PLOSP) has been proposed. Based on the PLOSP, different stages of the human lifespan can now be efficiently extended.
While the human lifespan has been significantly extended through improved living environments, nutritional supplies, and medical conditions and resources, this lifespan elongation will soon reach a plateau. The paradigm shift from a sole focus on the aging stage to a focus on other life stages will initiate a new era of biomedical research and lead to the extension of lifespan in healthy conditions.
This Special Issue aims to collect publications on novel ideas regarding how the human lifespan can be efficiently extended, focusing on different life stages. The scope of this Special Issue includes reviews and experimental studies on human populations, as well as animal models. Theoretical and hypothetical papers are also welcome.
We seek papers mainly focusing on topics including, but not limited to, the following: 1) the analysis of differences and similarities in physiological and pathological status between different life stages; 2) the impacts of the same genetic and environmental factors on different life stages and diseases; 3) the efficacy of the same drugs and therapeutic applications for diseases or disorders in specific or different life stages; and 4) how different life stage can be effectively extended.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Journal of Personalized Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
