Topical Collection Information
Dear Colleagues,
Personalized medicine has the tremendous potential to change clinical practice; however, currently, it has been adopted as standard of care in only a few specific cases, such as cancer diagnosis and therapy. Additional research is needed to understand when and how personalized medicine can be implemented within different clinical settings, for example, primary care for risk assessment or post-operative management of nausea and vomiting. To this end, we are initiating a Topical Collection that will include research studies relevant to "Bringing Personalized Medicine into Clinical Practice". Topics of interest include but are not limited to barriers and facilitators to implementation in clinical practice, interventions that improve uptake and understanding by patients or providers, and impact of interventions on clinical outcomes/utility in real world settings.
