Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Crystalline porous materials, including metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent–organic frameworks (COFs), and hydrogen-bonded frameworks (HOFs), possess a highly specific surface area, well-defined and order pores, variable structures, and tunable chemical functionalities, which have attracted great attention on their potential applications in broad fields. To meet the practical applications, the form of their thin films greatly promotes the applications of the crystalline porous materials in guest adsorption and separation, photo/electrocatalysts, and optical/electric devices and sensors. The main aim of this special issue is to provide an overview of the recent preparation and potential applications of crystalline porous, thin films—for example, the design and building up of new preparation strategies of thin films; development of a new class of thin films with high orientation, controllable thickness, a homogeneous surface, and compact film; study of the growth mechanism of thin films; exploration of their potential applications in various fields, such as energy storage and conversion, photo- and electrocatalysts, gas adsorption and separation, liquid purification, enantiomeric recognition and sensing, optoelectronic devices, etc. In addition, the study of the relationship between structures and applications is also included in this issue.

Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
