Dear Colleagues,
To achieve carbon neutrality and develop an environmentally friendly and efficient pretreatment process for the high-value utilization of biomass, this Special Issue focuses on research related to the thermal conversion of biomass, emphasizing its composition and structure.
Manuscripts focusing on the following topics are highly welcome: novel directional regulation mechanism of biomass structure; composition based on the enrichment of target products; new theoretical technologies and equipment based on pyrolysis, pyrolysis, and purification of biomass; integrated value-added biomass utilization and co-generation; and high-value comprehensive utilization of biomass components, etc.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
