Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Chronic sinusitis is a universal disease, which significantly impacts patient morbidity. Its impact is felt, both at a personal level, and by society at large with respect to healthcare expenditures and allocated healthcare resources. The etiology is considered to be multifactorial and may be related to allergen exposure, genetic predisposition and/or persistent infection. This Special Issue of Sinusitis will focus on the molecular biology of chronic sinusitis, including concepts of etiology, the inflammatory cascade, microbial agents which may affect cytokine expression and treatment modalities, including the traditional steroids and newer emerging agents.
