Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The rapid advancement of digital technologies is transforming the way businesses operate, offering new pathways for achieving resilience and sustainability. The integration of digital tools and platforms, such as AI, IoT, blockchain, and big data analytics, enables companies to optimize their operations, minimize environmental impact, and adapt swiftly to global challenges like climate change and economic disruptions. The intersection of digital transformation and sustainability is becoming increasingly critical as businesses strive to balance growth with environmental responsibility. This Special Issue seeks to advance our understanding of how digital transformation can serve as a catalyst for building resilient and sustainable business models, offering crucial insights for both academic research and practical applications.

We are pleased to invite you to submit your manuscripts for consideration in this Special Issue of Sustainability.

This Special Issue aims to explore the role of digital transformation in fostering resilient and sustainable businesses, aligning with the journal’s focus on innovative solutions to sustainability challenges. It seeks to bring together a diverse range of studies that illustrate how digital strategies can be leveraged to create sustainable business models, enhance operational efficiency, and respond to environmental and societal needs. The goal is to gather at least 10 high-quality articles that can contribute to both theoretical knowledge and practical advancements in this field. If successful, the Special Issue may be published in book form, offering a comprehensive resource for researchers and practitioners alike.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome on areas that may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Strategies for implementing digital transformation to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs);
  • The impact of digital technologies on business resilience, especially during crises like pandemics or economic downturns;
  • Case studies showcasing successful digital transformation efforts in sustainable business practices;
  • The role of emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and blockchain in advancing environmental, social, and economic sustainability;
  • Data-driven decision-making frameworks for sustainable resource management;
  • Applications of machine learning in enhancing business resilience and adapting to environmental changes;
  • Case studies on successful AI implementation in sustainable business practices;
  • Challenges and opportunities in adopting digital solutions for long-term sustainability;
  • Comparative studies of digital transformation impacts across industries (e.g., manufacturing, healthcare, and energy).

We look forward to receiving your contributions and hope that this Special Issue will advance the dialogue on leveraging digital transformations for a more sustainable future.
