Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are thrilled to introduce our Special Issue, “Energy Systems, Industrial Engineering and Sustainable Green Innovation”, which will serve as a hub for groundbreaking ideas addressing some of the world’s most urgent challenges. By exploring the synergy between energy management, industrial engineering, and green innovation, we aim to showcase solutions that are not only technologically advanced but also ethically grounded. Our mission is simple yet profound: to highlight strategies that reduce waste, mitigate environmental harm, and optimize industrial processes for the betterment of society and the planet. This Issue goes beyond technical solutions, diving into the heart of what makes innovation impactful—its ability to serve both industries and communities alike. Topics such as renewable energy integration, efficient manufacturing techniques, and sustainable product development take center stage. However, innovation does not thrive in isolation. Equally critical are the policies, business models, and collaborative frameworks that enable these breakthroughs to take root and flourish. Despite the rapid growth of research in energy systems and industrial engineering, much of it remains fragmented across disciplines. This Special Issue bridges these gaps, seeking to spark conversations that inspire fresh perspectives and actionable insights. Whether you are delving into life-cycle assessments, exploring digital manufacturing trends, or pioneering decarbonization techniques, this collection is designed to resonate with researchers, practitioners, and policymakers alike. We believe that meaningful solutions must address not just environmental concerns but also the social and economic dynamics that determine their adoption on a global scale. By weaving sustainability into the core of industrial progress, we can champion transformative change that benefits all. Through carefully curated articles and case studies, this Issue invites you to join a dialog grounded in evidence yet open to innovation.

We warmly invite our colleagues, researchers, and professionals working at the intersection of energy systems, industrial engineering, and sustainability to contribute to this Special Issue. Your submissions can help shape the conversation, spark new ideas, and drive meaningful progress in these critical fields. Whether you have groundbreaking research findings, innovative case studies, or compelling theoretical insights, we encourage you to share your work and join us in building a future where sustainability and innovation go hand in hand.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
