Dear Colleagues,
Climate change and anthropization processes that have affected many countries starting from the second half of the last century have increased the hydrogeological instability phenomena, often with tragic consequences. On the one hand, climate change significantly affects atmospheric circulation, causing sea level rise and influencing the frequency and the intensity of atmospheric events which generate rainfall and sea storms. On the other hand, anthropogenic pressure has increased the impermeable surfaces, thus reducing hydrological losses and increasing flow rates, and has altered the equilibrium of coastal areas, triggering erosive processes. Therefore, the understanding of the processes that generate hydrogeological instability phenomena, and their modeling, are key factors in the sustainable management of the areas at risk and in the choice and design phases of adequate mitigation measures.
This Special Issue aims to analyze all the main aspects concerning “Hydrogeological Disasters and Sustainable Coastal Region Management”, through research papers and case studies on the following topics:

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
