Dear Colleagues,
Sustainability invites researchers and experts in the field of air pollution and greenhouse gases to contribute to the Special Issue titled “Green and Low-Carbon Development: Emissions and Control Strategies for Air Pollutants and Greenhouse Gases”. This Special Issue aims to address the benefits, pathways, and technologies for synergistic emission reduction of air pollutants and greenhouse gases in different fields to achieve green and low-carbon development.
Deteriorating air quality and global warming are current challenges in many regions, constraining sustainable regional development. Air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions from anthropogenic sources, such as industrial production, fuel combustion, transportation, and agricultural production, are the dominant contributions to air pollution and climate change. However, with the urgent need for green and low-carbon development worldwide, emission reductions of atmospheric pollutants and greenhouse gases are of paramount importance.
Identifying the characteristics and effectively reducing the emissions of various air pollutants and greenhouse gases from various anthropogenic sources are the main ideas for mitigating air pollution and climate change. Air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions are complex, involving a wide range of issues such as emission behavior, emission tracing and evolution, and synergistic effects. In addition, the control of air pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions involves technological advances and policy measures.
This Special Issue aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, and experts from various disciplines to explore the latest advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the emissions control of air pollution and greenhouse gases, with a specific focus on benefits, pathways, and technologies. In this Special Issue, original research articles, reviews, and case studies are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Multiple air pollutants and greenhouse gases generation and influencing factors;
- Multi-scale emission inventories of air pollutants and greenhouse gases;
- Synergistic emissions reduction of air pollutants and greenhouse gases;
- Scenario analysis of air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions;
- Risks associated with air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions;
- Air pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions control technologies and materials;
- Sustainable evaluation of air pollutant and greenhouse gas emission control technologies;
- Policies for synergistic emissions reduction of air pollutants and greenhouse gases.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
