Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The need for sustainable procurement and resource efficiency in manufacturing has never been more pertinent. With the increasing pressures of environmental sustainability and economic competitiveness, manufacturing sectors worldwide are looking to revamp traditional procurement and resource management practices. Sustainable procurement pertains to sourcing goods and services that provide value for money over the long term while benefiting society and the economy and minimizing harm to the environment. By focusing on sustainable procurement and resource efficiency, manufacturers can make significant improvements in both their environmental performance and operational efficiency. 

This Special Issue explores the intersection of sustainable procurement and resource efficiency in manufacturing. It aims to uncover synergies that can lead to breakthroughs in enterprise operations. Additionally, it highlights practical applications, including successful case studies and policy recommendations for creating a supportive environment for sustainable manufacturing.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
