Mites from the Suborder Uropodina (Acari: Mesostigmata) in Bory Tucholskie National Park—One of the Youngest National Parks in Poland
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsDear Authors,
I have reviewed the manuscript entitled “Mites from the Suborder Uropodina (Acari: Mesostigmata) in Bory Tucholskie National Park – one of the Youngest National Parks in Poland”, which has provided some valuable information for the study of Uropodina. I think the manuscript can be accepted for publication after minor revisions. Here are some comments and suggestions for the minor revisions.
1. Line 201-204:Please delete Figure 2 because: This figure 2 is too simple, only containing the percentage of two elements, Polyaspidoidea (P) and Uropodoidea (U), which can be expressed in a short sentence instead.
2. Line 225-230:The four bar charts (I, II, III, and IV) in Figure 3 are very simple, and they can be combined to form a compound bar chart. The percentage in the figure is actually a constituent ratio (composition ratio), and the maximum of which should be 100%. Therefore, in the bar chat III of Figure 3, the maximum scale on the vertical axis (Y-axis) should be 100, not 120, and please correct it. Similarly, the four bar charts in Figures 4, 5, 6, and 7 can also be combined to form a compound bar chart, and the 120 scale on the vertical axis (Y-axis) should be changed to 100.
3. Line 608-612: “Figure 8” is upside down, and please adjust it.
4. Line 729-749: The conclusions are too redundant, and please shorten the conclusion section. The conclusions should be drawn from the results of this study and should be directly associated with the results of this study. Some speculations and prospects do not belong to the conclusions of this study, and they should be deleted from the conclusion section.
5. The scientific names of all mite species should be written in italics (some are wrong), and please check and correct them all.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThe manuscript ‘Mites from the Suborder Uropodina (Acari: Mesostigmata) in Bory Tucholskie National Park - one of the Youngest National Parks in Poland"is one of a series of publications on mites in the national parks of Poland. In particular, the distribution of the suborder Uropodina was analysed from 300 samples with 3839 individuals. The work was carried out correctly and with great effort and compares the occurrence of Uropodina in Polish national parks. It certainly enriches the knowledge of Uropodina occurrence in Poland. The review of 90 papers cited in the literature shows the intensive study of the subject. As the manuscript is clearly written and well structured, I recommend it for publication.
