Correlation between Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF) with D-Dimer and Interleukin-6 as Prognostic Markers of Coagulation and Inflammation in Long COVID-19 Survivors
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
I selected to review this article because of the way the title attracted me while browsing. This review is very important as it brings out the advances in the scientific literature on long covid and its symptoms. This will be a game changer for the companies involved in making diagnostics kits, especially the information about the D Dimer.
I agree with the authors " D-dimer may therefore be thought of as an easy, trustworthy, and affordable test to monitor and follow COVID-19 patients who need to continue taking low molecular weight heparin or other blood thinners after achieving clinical recovery."
I also appreciate the author bringing up the "IL-6 levels are markedly increased and linked to poor clinical outcomes in COVID-19 patients. High-quality trials of intervention in this area are urgently needed." as significant trials are necessary in this direction.
It is also important to note the importance of HGF in the blood clotting system, as recent failures of the Factor Xa clinical trials require alternative drug targets or inhibitors or advances in study leading to more information in the blood clotting system. I consider this review to be complete and well-written and request to be published after minor revisions as below :
1. please include the role of heparinase enzymes in long covid.

This review discuss about COVID-19 and HG6, Il-1 and D Dimer as prognostic markers in the inflammatory process and coagulation.
At the moment the authors fixing some criteria that we already know about covid and alteration/dysregulation of Immune system, further studies are needed to assess the correlation.
