Round 1

The research is quite interesting, the themes offered can describe the situation at the study site. Data recovery has its own uniqueness. Data analysis still requires calculation, statistics, and interpretation improvements

In some cases, the user's behavior and understanding of the traffic in the roundabout should be the main parameter

In the paper the authors analyze and compare analytical and regression models in order to optimize the decision-making during the final roundabout design stage. They focus on 4-legged single-lane roundabouts schemes but, in may opinion, the approach could be applied to more complex setups as well.
The paper is surely interesting and well written. The data are presented in a clear way while the geometric parameters of the roundabouts are well defined and supported by detailed schemes. It is worth to say that in the last year new approaches for traffic jam in roundabout has been introduced, based on quantum tools and quantum ideas adopted for macroscopic systems ("Second quantization representation for classical many-particle system" J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 9, 1465 (1976)). The optimization procedure discussed in the paper looks really suitable to be applied on the analytical approach in the proposed references. I think that the authors should qualitatively discuss this point, maybe in the introduction or in the conclusions, as including it in the paper would substantially increase its value.

The study was conducted with methodological rigor, and the results are considerable. The scope of the regression method is indeed suitable for suburban contexts. I suggest that the authors go further and conduct a similar investigation also for urban areas, where spatial and territorial constraints are even more stringent and where it would therefore be useful to obtain more reliable estimates of the degree of saturation of roundabouts entries compared to standard analytical models.
