Analysis of Consumers’ Green Consumption Behavior against the Background of “Carbon Peak, Carbon Neutrality”—Based on Survey Data from Anhui Province
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The authors consider an interesting subject, the research methods are appropriate and some good advices were given in this paper.
However, before accepted, the follow issues should be addressed.
The specific modification suggestions are as follows:
1. Check that Table 14 is in the correct format.
2. It is suggested to add references to research methods such as regression analysis.
3. Some languages can be simplified: As shown in the following sentence in Table 12" Stepwise regression analysis is based on regression analysis and adds a feature that automatically removes non-significant X.” As a common sense knowledge of step by step regression, it can be simplified, no need to repeat. It is recommended to delete this sentence directly. To check other content, whether there is any need to simplify and make changes.
4. Please further refine the abstract, such as “through these measures, it was verified that there existed a significant relationship between green consumption behavior and the influencing factors.” Two assumptions in the article are not valid, so the relevant description should be more accurate.
5. The description of Likert 5 scale is recommended to be modified, because the text description and the description in brackets are suspected of duplication.( The larger the number, the more consistent the respondents' behaviors with the questionnaire questions (1 = very inconsistent, 2 = relatively inconsistent, 3 = uncertain, 4 = relatively consistent, and 5 = very consistent).)

The article deals with an interesting research problem (factors influencing green consumption behavior), however it has some serious flaws.
The main objection concerns the description of the research method and the formulation of hypotheses as well as the discussion of the research results. The regression model is not given (with variable symbols), the variables are not presented in the proper way, it is not known, how they were measured, e.g. green consumption behavior or psychological factors and channel factor.
Table 6 is incomprehensible, it is not known what codes Q1, Q2, X1, X2 etc. refer to.
Hypothesis H3. ‘Psychological factors have a significant positive impact on consumers' green consumption behavior’ is very general, what specific psychological factor affects green consumption behavior? It does not follow from the hypothesis development and from the description of the methodology and research results. Similarly, hypothesis H5. ‘Channel factors have a significantly positive impact on consumers' green consumption behavior’. What exactly has an impact? Number of channels?
The questionnaire is not provided in the appendix, so it is not known what specific questions the respondents answered. The literature review presented in the introduction is a bit chaotic. It should be organized, more by problems than by authors, including, among others, discussion of factors affecting green consumption behavior.
It is necessary to describe the planned behavior theory in much more detail (not only in one paragraph) and provide the theoretical background of circular economy when describing circular economy theory based on some references. "The two-carbon theory" (section 2.1.1.) – this is not a scientific theory, but rather a state environmenatl policy/program.
The sentence „Based on relevant research conclusions regarding the factors influencing green consumption behavior, this study defines relevant variables, as shown in Table 1” (p. 5) is incomprehensible.Author Response
