Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for Search and Rescue: A Survey
Round 1

1. It seems that the subsection ”Designs that promotes the mobility” only illustrates two papers about the physical innovation designs. To improve the understanding, it is better to expand the content of this subsection, such as the definition and the purpose of the designs, then cite the corresponding papers to further enhance this argument.
2. The introduction in Section 3 lack of description relating to its following contents, it is expected that the introduction should be expanded, by containing the main idea of the following contents inside.
3. It seems that the Literature 62 does not obtain a successful experiment result by applying eye tracker into UAV SAR operation. Therefore it should not be regarded as an effective argument of the paper. It should be considered as the introduction of a new concept.
4. Table 6 and 8 are essentially the same, the writer should consider to combine them and make a more comprehensive illustration.
5. A table of literature should be added into the section 3.3.3 for better illustration, just like what the former paragraphs did.
6. Part of the illustration could be further explained, such as in the line 718: why do we need to introduce the machine-learning into SLAM, what are the purposes and advantages? Ideas will be more clarified if the relevant illustration being introduced.
7. In recent years, some new-type UAVs (e.g., solar-powered UAVs) are gradually applied in SAR missions, the corresponding review contents can be supplemented.

In general it is a nice work and of interest.
Nevertheless I have a few minor suggestions.
1) table I is redundant and needs to be removed.
2) you state that multicopters and helicopters have a similar flight principle. This is not true. A helicopter can move the roter head and does this in order to move horizontally. A multicopter changes the relative speed of each motor, inorder to move horizontally, this is a significant difference.
3) after table II it would be nice to say which type of UAV is best used for a certain application.
4) often you use a structure like "the paper[X] developed/presented/etc." Which sounds weird because the authors of paper X developed/presented/etc.
5) finally, since you are making a survey, it would be nice if the future work paragraph is extended to a section. In which you describe future work to be done in more detail
No specific comments about the English.

This paper aims to provide an introduction to the various types and components of 5 UAVs and their importance in SAR operations. In addition, present a comprehensive review 6 of sensor integrations in UAVs for SAR operations, highlighting their roles in target perception, 7 localization, and identification.
although the present article has the merit of being published, it needs to be improved considerably.
1- the abstract is short and should present the motivation and the contribution.
2- a technical comparison between your survey and others should be added. preferably make a table that illustrates the difference and the novelty of the survey.
3- I notice that your article is not illustrated enough with figures. Figures can be added so that the readers understand more elements of your survey.
4-The authors have not added a section where they describe the future challenges of the problem. on the other hand, a good survey should contain empirical equations and notably some results.
5- The limitations of the cited research articles should be briefly studied and in relation to this, you propose solutions.
6-AI is currently very present in the field of UAV communication. A section on the interest of AI concerning your problem should be added. Added the articles cited on AI in this section
7- The survey discusses a lot of points but ignores the energy aspect. indeed, drones are limited by their battery level and several solutions are exploited. the authors must notably study this aspect. https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10124205
it is important to revise the article in terms of English
