Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This review Alriyami and Polychronakos focuses on somatic mutation as novel risk factor that contribute to development of autoimmune diseases. The topic is quite interesting, as understanding the role of somatic mutations in autoimmunity contribute to unveil novel aspect in the pathogenesis of autoimmune conditions.

The review is timely and  well-written. The figure is helpful.  I have no specific comments for improvement. May be the authors want to report in the manuscript a table describing the main and novel technical approaches to detect mutations in autoimmunity.
