Toxic Leadership and Turnover Intentions: Emotional Intelligence as a Moderator of This Relationship
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThe recommendation is that more recent references are added and incorporated in the text, in particular in theoretical framework.
The data collection period should be added within chapter 3.1.
It is recommended, within chapter 4.4, that authors provide a reasoning if the possibility exists for developing a comprehensive model of turnover intentions, which would include all relevant variables explaining the phenomenon. In the present form, study portrays partial effects and explanations of the phenomenon, but it is highly recommended to have at least insight, within this part or within the theoretical framework also, so that the contextualization of results is potentially achieved. This is a suggestion for improvement.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsDear authors, thank you for submitting your paper for my review. Below are my suggestions that you may consider to enhance the quality of this paper:
1. The explanation of the findings from previous studies in relation to hypotheses in this study does not appear in the introduction section. As a result, the research gaps and shortcomings are not clearly identified. This part is essential to address, especially in the discussion section following the results part of this study.
2. In section 3.1., which discusses the data collection procedure, it is mentioned that this study is cross-sectional. however, the specific period of data collection is not specifically stated. Why?
3. Examples of items for each variable included in the questionnaire need to be provided.
4. Why a common method bias test was not performed prior to conducting further data analysis?
5. Please explain the relevance of the first paragraph in the conclusion section: Emotional intelligence ..... intentions.
Good luck!

Thank you for the suggestion. At the beginning of chapter 4.4, it was stated why a comprehensive model of turnover intentions has not been developed, which includes all the relevant variables that explain the phenomenon. For this purpose, the ideal would be to carry out a structural equation model, which was not done due to the small sample size, which was considered a limitation of this study.

Thank you for the suggestion. We added at the end of the introduction that we had difficulty finding articles that related the three variables. That was why we wanted to study these relationships, since it was assumed that emotional intelligence could alter the relationship between toxic leadership and exit intentions.
Yours sincerely,
