Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This article is the parametric study of the gloss effect by coating on the high density fibreboard with the different number of layers and different power of UV Hg-Ga lamps.

It is the well-organised article, however, it has many ungrammatical expressions. English proofreading with grammar should be done. References should be checked on the context, as given example, Salca et al. in line 54-52.

In Results and Discussion section, it has a lack of discussion about "hardening". Please make it clear, if possible, with quantities for "hardening".

Comment 1: English proofreading with grammar should be done.

Answer 1: The attached text has undergone extensive linguistic revision. Due to the extensive changes, we have omitted to highlight in yellow the corrections made to the text.

Comment 2: References should be checked on the context, as given example, Salca et al. in line 54-52.

Answer 2: As suggested, the numbers of the articles cited have been included in all cases at the end of sentences.

Comment 3: In Results and Discussion section, it has a lack of discussion about "hardening". Please make it clear, if possible, with quantities for "hardening".

Answer 3: At present in the woodworking industry in technologies of the hardening of UV lacquer products  Hg and Ga radiators are commonly used. This article focuses on determining the effect of different lamp powers and the amount of applied paint on the gloss of coatings. Statistical considerations showed that the amount of topcoat applied, the power of the lamps and the interactions between them had the greatest impact on gloss, followed by the number of layers. In general, the gloss of the coating decreased with a decrease in lamp power in the range 120–60 W/cm and with an increase in the amount of topcoat applied. In the text some information was given. In the next paper we will try to explain curing and hardening process.

Only some minor technical corrections are suggested:

The quality of English written language should be improved!

L29:    here, the ASTM standard is mentioned. Please note that all standards, mentioned in the paper (somewhat later DIN EN, etc.) should be cited in the section with references

L61:    write “Juglans regia” in italic font!

L90:    write “700x390x21.5 mm” as “(700x390x21.5) mm3” and apply such a way in all similar cases

L91:    write “640±20 kg/m3” as “(640±20) kg/m3” and apply such a way in all similar cases

Reference Section: I could not find the reference No. 35 in the text of the paper
