A Systematic Review of Machine-Vision-Based Leather Surface Defect Inspection
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
In this paper, recent methods of leather surface defect inspection with image analysis and machine learning are well reviewed. The authors also discuss some main challenges and future development trends for leather surface defect inspection at the end of this manuscript. I would suggest this manuscript in its current form.

no significant remarks
Typos: in formula (1), in order to express the distribution density of the mixture of distributions, it is necessary to indicate mixing probabilities for the background, and the darker and brighter part of the defects
Possible typos: formula (2) is somewhat different from what is written in the article (35), to which the link is given

Question:
For some references in Chinese [17, 45, 46, 47], there are [D] and [M] right after the term "(in Chinese)". What do [D] and [M] represent?
Suggestion
Section 8. Conclusions is pretty short and redundant. Please consider to remove this short section. Or combine Sections 7 and 8 into one concluding section.
