Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In general, it is a good review. However, I found this paper discussed both fluidic devices and gas sensors.  I think it would be good to only force on Gas sensor design instead of having a disbalance of content.

Author Response

Author's Response:  We are thankful for the reviewers for mentioning this comment. The authors have added more details on the Gas Sensors.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript is well-written and informative. I recommend acceptance after minor revision.

The gas sensor should be organized as part of the whole article. But now, it reads like a quite isolated part. For example, from the line 493, the paragraph sounds like another article starts. The authors can modify this part.

Author's Response: We are thankful to the reviewer for the positive feedback. The comment has been addressed in the updated manuscript. We have deleted the line 493 to avoid any confusion.

Reviewer 3 Report

  • It will be interesting to mention Gases and gas concentrations detected using the microstrip approach
  • It will be interesting to highlight  a section dedicated to industrial applications of this approach in gas detection
  • The power requirement in this type of device compared to a traditional gas sensor will be interesting
  • Need to discuss the below papers in the manuscript to update the related information into the manuscript.
  1. Ni, D., Ravi, A., Kumar, K. V., & Lal, A. (2019, November). A mechanically tunable GHz passive voltage element using microstrip resonator. In Journal of Physics: Conference Series (Vol. 1407, No. 1, p. 012051). IOP Publishing.
  2. Diedhiou, D. L., Sauleau, R., & Boriskin, A. V. (2015). Microfluidically tunable microstrip filters. IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques63(7), 2245-2252.

Author Response

  1. It will be interesting to mention Gases and gas concentrations detected using the microstrip approach.

Authors Response:

We are thankful for the reviewers for this valuable suggestion. The authors have added more details on the Gas detection using microstrip approach.

  1. It will be interesting to highlight a section dedicated to industrial applications of this approach in gas detection.

Authors Response:

We are thankful for the reviewers for this valuable suggestion. A new paragraph on Industrial applications of the Gas Sensors has been added and highlighted in the updated manuscript.

  1. The power requirement in this type of device compared to a traditional gas sensor will be interesting.

Authors Response:

We are thankful for the reviewers for this valuable comment. Since very less papers have emphasized on the power level for such type of gas sensors. The authors have added the power requirements in the section on Fluidic Gas Sensors.
