Rainwater Harvesting Potential and Utilization for Artificial Recharge of Groundwater Using Recharge Wells
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Summary
The study investigates the use of rainwater harvesting in Lahore for recharging groundwater.
Comments
Please check the English in the manuscript as there are a number of grammatical errors.
Please provide references to the photos and figures presented within the manuscript if they are sourced from other studies.
Line 112: Section 2: Materials and Method. Please write up the methodology more clearly.
Line 381- The authors are advised to recommend any measures which may be taken to prevent contamination of the runoff from heavy metals. Could grassed drains and small bio-retention basins be installed prior to runoff entering the groundwater chamber to assist in the treatment of heavy metals?
A costing estimate of the groundwater recharge structure would put more perspective into the potential viability of implementing such systems on a city wide scale.

Reviewer 2 Report
The manuscript by Hussain is well prepared and contains solid data. I would like to recommend acceptance of this work. It is quite interesting, and should attract broad attention from the public. The authors need to correct a few minor errors:
1. Please define "RWH" for the first time when it is used in abstract.
2. line 49-52, grammar errors.
3. Figure 1. a clearer pic is desired, and the font and size on the two pic should match.

Round 2
Reviewer 1 Report
The reviewer would like to thank the authors for taking into consideration the comments.
Some minor changes in the English are still required for the additional bits added to the Method section (i.e. section 2.3 and 2.4) to bring it up to journal standards.
In the costing estimate section, (Section 3.2.8), PKR has to be defined in the first instance i.e. Pakistani Rupees (PKR).
Also, do consider adding an additional column to convert PKR into a more common currency, such as US dollars (USD) or Euro (€), at current rates, for the benefit of international readers.
