Non-Destructive Eggshell Strength Assessment Using Hertz Contact Theory Part I: Theory and Applicability
Abstract
:1. Introduction
- Hertz contact theory is used to describe the actual impact on the egg by a small sphere. This is substantially different from the Moayeri [10] application, in which rebounds are counted as a measure of local shell stiffness;
- The research concerning the vibration of the egg after impact by a small sphere focuses on the impulse response of the egg itself.
