Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Very interesting work. A new approach to literature analysis in the field of UAVs is presented. The authors have explored this area quite extensively.

Several inaccuracies were noticed in the work:

- The work does not explain what "PRISMA" is (line 439). Only from the literature list can you understand what it is.

- It is not clear why Fig. 2. Columns for 2021 and 2022 have been swapped. Data consistency is lost.

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper presents a SLR on autonomous path planning of UAV. Following the exclusion and inclusion criteria defined within the SLR methodology, 90 primary studies are considered. Through literature synthesis, a unique perspective to see through the literature is established in terms of characteristic research sectors for UAVs. Four research directions are summarized to guide the future research of path planning of UAV. Since the good quality and originality of this paper, I have no more comments on the technical content and recommend a minor revision as well as a few minor modification and suggestions for future work below.

1) The introduction describes the decreased number of articles in 2021, but 2022 is the decline year shown in Figure 1. In addition, some grammatical errors in the paper need to be proofread.

2) This paper takes keyword "UAV" for literature searching. However, the abbreviations of unmanned aerial system (UAS) and unmanned aircraft (UA) are also adopted in a certain quantity of papers. Therefore, I suggest the author to expand the search scope in the future work to make results more comprehensive.
