A Novel MPPT Technique Based on Combination between the Incremental Conductance and Hysteresis Control Applied in a Standalone PV System
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The work is interesting and can be considered. However, some minor language is required. Also figures need to be improved.

Reviewer 3 Report
This article is interesting and fits well within the scope of this journal, including power electronics, control, photovoltaic electricity production and power quality. It is generally well written, although there are a few sentences that should be revised, the punctuation in particular (for example, lines 56-63).
There are a few issues that this reviewer would like to see better clarified in the article:
1- The case study, shown in Figure 8 and Figure 9, has extreme temperature variations (not possible in practice: instantaneous variation of 15 K) and of Irradiation. Why such extreme variations chosen? To stress that if the control system works well with this conditions it should work well with real physical conditions? Please elaborate on this.
2- Line 215/Figure 4 and Figure 5: DC link voltage and output voltages vary significantly. For most loads, the power supply should have constant RMS voltage. It is not the case presented here (Figure 15). Please explain what would be the application for the presented case or how would it keep fixed RMS voltage.
3- Comparative study and conclusions: The time differences between the different algorithms in Figure 17 do not seem very high (10-40 ms), neither the power oscillations. Explain better/quantify the advantages of the proposed INC-HYS over the INC-PI and INC-PWM methods. Are other advantages? (for example, easiness or cost of implementation?)
4- The proposed method has good simulation results but no experimental validation is presented. Will this be done?
Some minor aspects:
Lines 59-61: please provide a short description on what are “Packed U-Cells” and “Split Packed U-Cells”.
Line 69: nine- or five-level?
Lines 79-85: For clarity of reading, consider including a illustrative figure here, or editing Figure 3, indicating the MPP and refer it here (for example, by: "cf. Figure 3.").
Line 96: [25] is referred to before [24].
Line 120: “Upper… ON” or “Upper… OFF”?
Line 133-143: IPV or Ip? (please match better Figure 2 and the variables in (7)-(9) And indicate all the currents in Figure 2). What are the variables A and EG in (9)? “…03e-23”: the power is superscript. Line 143: K_i or Ki?

Response 1: The maximum temperature in this work is 39°C and not 15K.

Response 2:Because author use a DC/AC multilevel converter.

Response 4:In future work, experimental validation will be done.
