Biomacromolecules: Proteins
A section of Biomolecules (ISSN 2218-273X).
Section Information
Proteins are key functional actors of the cell, and protein dysfunctions are often the cause of diseases. The Proteins section of the international, open access journal Biomolecules (ISSN 2218-273X) lays at the interface between chemistry, biology, and molecular medicine and has a strong focus on the structure and function of proteins, including the following:
- their molecular mechanisms with biological and medical impacts;
- the role of protein–protein interactions in protein complexes and networks;
- the application of protein as biomarkers or therapeutic targets.
Basic research, in vitro and in vivo investigations, and pre-clinical studies are welcome. Manuscripts dealing solely with the modelling of data found in public databases such as TCGA and others are not encouraged, as they generally do not provide enough new insights or information to our readers.
