Dear Colleagues,
In recent years, flexible biosensors have become pivotal instruments for real-time, non-invasive health monitoring in various domains, including wearable technology, environmental sensing, and medical diagnostics. The incorporation of nanocomposites into flexible biosensor systems has demonstrated significant promise to improve sensitivity, durability, and adaptability, resulting in devices that are both highly functional and pleasantly worn. This Special Issue seeks to examine recent breakthroughs in nanocomposite materials designed for flexible biosensors, addressing both the foundational ideas and the practical applications that are fostering innovation in this field.
We welcome submissions that explore the synthesis, characterization, and performance assessment of nanocomposites tailored for flexible biosensing applications. Studies focusing on essential materials, such as carbon-based nanostructures, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), MXenes, and polymer-based nanocomposites, are particularly noteworthy due to their potential to enhance signal sensitivity, mechanical flexibility, and long-term stability. Research that enhances the functional design of flexible biosensors, including integration with wearable platforms, wireless communication systems, and multifunctional sensing, is strongly advocated. This Special Issue invites articles addressing issues in the manufacture and scaling of nanocomposite-based biosensors, along with developing trends in biocompatibility, power efficiency, and user-centric designs. This Special Issue offers a thorough examination of these subjects to direct future advancements and partnerships in nanocomposite-based flexible biosensors, fostering innovative applications that address the needs of personalized healthcare, environmental monitoring, and more.
