Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
In recent years, the World Health Organization, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and its partners and member states have worked to promote a comprehensive strategy and policy for environment and health, aimed at health hazard minimization and global health preservation. Strict cooperation between environment preservation and public health is fundamental if we are to reach the proposed aim. National and worldwide action plans regarding the environment and health were also suggested.
To promote the environment and public health, both of which are mandatory for sustainable social and economic development, applied research on this topic is obligatory to ensure we have sufficient knowledge regarding prevention, from natural risks to industrial, anthropic, and climatic risks.
A "One health"-based applied research approach is the first step towards better support for public health hazard minimization or deletion. Global warming, precision medicine, epigenetic, veterinary medicine, food safety and control of emerging environmental risks results, such as nanomaterials, will be discussed in this Special Issue.
Research on governance, surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, prevention and health promotion are welcome. Studies on preventable noncommunicable and communicable disease, premature death and avoidable disability are also encouraged.
