Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The characteristics of composites, such as mechanical and specific functional properties, can be tailored by the contributions of corresponding phases and their connectivity. Compared to conventional rigid composites, flexible composites have drawn much attention due to their unique properties, such as being deformable as well as bendable and having a high fatigue resistance in addition to a light weight, which have great potential in diverse fields such as biomedical uses, energy harvesting, and non-destructive testing; however, with the advanced development of flexible electronics and wireless sensor networks, there are still challenges and opportunities in aspects of materials and the applications of flexible composites. This Special Issue plans to provide an overview of state-of-the-art flexible composites, which involves advances in composite design strategies, modeling, fabrication, properties, and applications.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Three-dimensional-printed composites.
  • Fiber-reinforced composites.
  • Lead-free composites.
  • Random composites.
  • Energy harvesting.
  • Ultrasonic transducers.

Manuscript Submission Information

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Journal of Composites Science is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
