Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to invite scholars, practitioners, and researchers to submit papers to the Special Issue on "Innovation in the Pharmaceutical Industry: Drug Discovery, Delivery, and Manufacturing." The aim of this Special Issue is to provide the most recent developments, breakthroughs, and trends that are influencing the pharmaceutical industry. Original research articles that examine the complex terrain of pharmaceutical innovation are encouraged, as are review papers, original research papers, perspective and opinion pieces, or case studies. Every submission will go through a thorough peer review process to ensure the high quality of the published content.

New approaches in solving old challenges in the manufacturing or control of medicinal products, new dosage forms, advanced drug delivery systems, nanotechnology industrial applications, challenges in manufacturing and authorizing gene and cell therapies, applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in drug discovery and development, regulatory innovation, creative clinical trial designs, advances in biopharmaceuticals, and new methods for enhancing drug safety and efficacy are just a few of the topics of interest. We also value contributions that address how international cooperation, academic–industry partnerships, and public–private partnerships influence pharmaceutical innovation. For a more comprehensive knowledge of the industry's influence, we also encourage submissions that explore the ethical, economic, and societal ramifications of these breakthroughs. Work that crosses conventional disciplinary lines and shows promise for having a major influence on patient care and public health is of particular interest.

We encourage you to participate in this Special Issue. Regardless of your level of experience, your innovative contribution has the potential to shape the current research landscape and the future of the pharmaceutical industry. The manuscript submission deadline is 1 March 2025. Please visit the journal's website or contact the Editorial Office for additional information relating to submission and publication.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Pharmaceutical and BioTech Industry is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1000 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
