Dear Colleagues,
It is a great honor for me to invite you to contribute to a Special Issue of Materials dedicated to the effects of structure on the magnetism and conductivity properties of 2D materials.
Knowing and understanding the crystal structure of condensed-matter systems is an indispensable prerequisite for making any attempts to describe the whole palette of their physical properties. In particular, it plays an extremely important role in determining the band structure, which in turn paves the way for specifying such vital characteristics as the effective mass or density of states. Another weighty example is the vibration modes of the crystal lattice, whose existence and observability under given experimental conditions are strictly dependent on the structure of the system under study.
In the case of various 2D materials, which have been arousing unfading interest from the worldwide scientific community for about two decades, the influence of crystal structure and reduced dimensionality on the plethora of their exciting physical properties is even more pronounced. As it is impossible to cover all these phenomena in-depth in a limited selection of publications, in this Special Issue we would like to focus on magnetism and conductivity and encourage you to share your fascinating achievements with the readership of Materials.
We are looking forward to your research articles, reviews, communications, and concept papers addressing the subjects outlined above.
