10th Anniversary

The year 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of Medicines, an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal aimed at disseminating cutting-edge research in the field of drug discovery and clinical application. Medicines is covered in PubMed, PMC, CAPlus/SciFinder, and other databases. It has published more than 680 papers from more than 2,800 authors, and more than 1,300 reviewers have reviewed the journal at least once. We equally value the contributions made by our editors, authors, and reviewers.

In honor of the journal’s 10th anniversary, we are reflecting on our past accomplishments and embarking on an exciting new chapter. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone for our journal and to explore the content we have prepared for you below.

Journal History


The inaugural issue was released. Medicines was published as a quarterly journal.

Prof. Dr. Gerhard Litscher was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of Medicines.

The first paper of Medicines was published on 30 June 2014.

Medicines was indexed in the PubMed and PubMed Central.

Medicines announced the first edition of the Travel Award.

Medicines announced the first edition of the Outstanding Reviewer Award.

Medicines announced the first edition of the Outstanding Reviewer Award.

Medicines adopted a monthly publication schedule.

Medicines published its 500th paper.
