Dear Colleagues,
Sustainable materials development is the process of creating products in an environmentally friendly way that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. We possess a diverse array of renewable natural resources, but our success in ensuring the optimal development of sustainable materials hinges on the actions we undertake. Enhancing the utilization of these materials, conserving resources, reusing, and recycling are essential actions. Achieving this necessitates the development of novel materials and alternative technologies aimed at reducing waste. Sustainable composite materials have the potential to establish systems where they can coexist within optimal life cycles. To make sustainable materials a reality in the current market, it is imperative to align research efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 15. The increasing demand for sustainable materials presents a significant opportunity to support the attainment of the SDGs as outlined in the 2030 Agenda. Addressing the complexity of these goals requires interdisciplinary collaboration in the realms of science, circular economy, and materials technology. These materials are aimed at reducing human activities’ impact on the environment while still fulfilling current needs.
Therefore, potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
