Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue, “Innovative Drug Delivery through Chemically Synthesized Polymers and Terpenoids”, delves into the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation, emphasizing the development of advanced drug delivery systems. It highlights the synthesis and application of chemically synthesized polymers and naturally derived terpenoids as novel carriers for therapeutic agents. The focus is on enhancing drug efficacy, targeting precision, and safety while achieving controlled and sustained drug release.

This collection aims to provide a platform for exploring the design, synthesis, and functional evaluation of new polymeric materials specifically tailored for drug delivery. Additionally, it will investigate the distinctive properties of terpenoids, which are gaining recognition for their ability to improve the bioavailability and therapeutic index of drugs. Contributions are expected to cover various topics, including:

  • The modulation of drug release kinetics via chemically synthesized polymers;
  • Interactions between terpenoids and biological membranes and their effects on drug absorption;

Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
