Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The rapid detection of pollutants in agricultural products is crucial for ensuring food safety and protecting public health. With the increasing awareness around food safety issues, there has been a significant push towards developing more efficient, accurate, and accessible methods to detect contaminants such as foodborne pathogens, pesticides, veterinary drugs, natural toxins, heavy metals, allergens, GMOs, nanoparticles and other harmful substances. Furthering the rapid detection of pollutants in agricultural products will require the integration of multiple technologies, the miniaturization of devices, and the development of user-friendly systems that can be operated by non-specialists. Additionally, there is a growing trend towards the real-time monitoring and continuous surveillance of food supply chains to prevent contamination at the source. This Special Issue is focused on new techniques and methods for the rapid detection of pollutants in agricultural products in a better, faster and more cost-effective way.
