Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Livestock fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural films, and their packaging are indispensable materials in agricultural production. However, the excessive use and improper disposal of these materials are a "double-edged sword". While promoting increased crop yields, they bring about serious ecological problems, such as declining soil quality, soil structure compaction, groundwater pollution, the spread of antimicrobial resistance genes, and a sharp decrease in biodiversity. Sustainable agriculture is an effective way to address these issues, not only conserving agricultural resources, ensuring product safety, and maintaining human health but also playing a crucial role in promoting agricultural green transformation and seeking high-quality development. This Special Issue aims to reflect new situations and issues in the practice of agricultural green development through scientific research, providing detailed and reliable evidence for agricultural policy formulation and institutional innovation. We welcome the submission of high-quality original research papers or review papers to this Special Issue.
Potential topics of interest for this Special Issue include the following:
- Soil ecological restoration and environmental management;
- New techniques for reducing the use of fertilizers and pesticides;
- Climate change and agricultural green development;
- Pro-environment or green production practices in agriculture;
- Agricultural waste treatment and resource recycling;
- Detection and control of foul-smelling water bodies in the agroecosystem;
- Emerging contaminants in suburban irrigation rivers associated with an agroecosystem;
- Land use, resource recycling, and environmental economic value assessment;
- Agricultural business strategies for agroecosystem green development;
- Evaluation of green development performance and the effectiveness of pollution control policies;
- Green development policies suitable for the control of agricultural.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Toxics is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
