Special Issue Information

Dear Colleague,

The damaging effects of air pollution on our health and the urgent need for more accessible and reliable local data to address these issues were emphasized in different studies. Nine out of ten people worldwide breathe unhealthy air, which provokes various health issues. Waters are also highly polluted, with floating plastics being a real danger to the fauna. Chemical products such as fertilizers, antibiotics, industrial residuals, and household waste also pollute water and soil. In this context, the present Issue aims to collect articles that comprehensively evaluate the pollution level and utilize these findings to implement effective mitigation measures. The selected articles for this Special Issue will not only offer an overview of the current research status within this field, they will also delve deeply into assessing risks and the environmental impact caused by pollution. Furthermore, in addition to proposing practical solutions for addressing water, air, and soil pollution, the selected topics will explicitly address the selection of different tools that best highlight the changes in environmental quality and explore their potential implications for our society's sustainable future. We welcome articles that propose modern methods for monitoring, modeling, and mitigating pollution, as well as those that develop solutions for reducing its environmental impact to pave the way for a sustainable future.

The Special Issue will collect articles presented in the 2nd International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Futures ICASF 2024, Abu Dhabi University, UAE, 11-12 December 2024, but is also open to all scientists.
