- 1.0 g/kg/day in older people; the amount should be adjusted individually with respect to nutritional status, level of physical activity, disease status and tolerance.
- 1.0 g/kg/day in polymeric hospitalised patients to prevent body weight loss, improve functional outcome and reduce the risk of complications and hospital readmission. In critically ill patients, they recommend 1.3 g/kg/day.
