Biocompatibility and Cellular Behavior of TiNbTa Alloy with Adapted Rigidity for the Replacement of Bone Tissue
Round 1

I cannot find how to control porosity of TiNbTa foams. Please mention about its control method.
Please check oxygen content in sintered specimens because of severe influence of that content on mechanical properties.
You mentioned value of Young’s modulus of TiNbTa_0 is 48.0 GPa. I think this value is very low as no-pore specimen. Please check that value of specimen made by ingot metallurgy.
From 359 to 361 line, you mentioned that present of small hexagonal-structure vesicles was observed and those were expected as HAP. UnfortunatelyT, I cannot find those vesicles in Figure 7. Please indicate those by a mark.
From 361 to 363 line, you mentioned that clear difference is seen between the morphology of cell grown on TiNbTa and full dense Ti. I understand this content is explained about phenomenon observed in only 14 days. However, I think difference of the morphology between TiNbTa and Full dense Ti started from 4day. How do you feel my message?
Please explain the reason why the difference of morphology between those alloys occurred.
Please explain the reason why cell viability of the TiNbTa decreased in 14 days by differentiation.
305 line; “TiO2 and Nb2O5” >>> “TiO2 and Nb2O5”, please check.
334 line; “p=0.000” >>> “p<0.05”, please check.

This work evaluates the mechanical and bio-functional behavior of a TiNbTa alloy as a potential prosthetic biomaterial used for cortical bone replacement and compares these properties of the TiNbTa alloy to those of CP-Ti. This work has presented interesting results that have high potential for publication. However, revisions are required to further improve the quality of the manuscript by addressing the following comments.
Introduction should introduce the recent progress in the development of biomedical titanium alloys without Al or V, such as TLM alloy (Ti-25Nb-3Zr-3Mo-2Sn), Ti-Zr-Fe-Cr, Ti-Nb-Fe-Cr, Ti-Zr-Fe-Mn, Ti-Nb-Sn-Cr, Ti-Nb-Zr-Cr, Ti-Nb-Zr-Mn, and so on.
All the verbs that describe the experiments should be in past tense.
Regarding the mechanical behavior, please compare the mechanical behavior of Ti-24Nb-4Zr-8Sn manufactured by selective laser melting or electron beam melting.
