Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I recommend publication in the present form.

Author Response

We thank Reviewer for the recommendation to publish our paper.

Reviewer 2 Report

This work deals with the preparation of modified Halloysite Nanotubes by using gold and silver nanoparticles in order to develop new plasmonic nanostructures. After being physico-chemically characterized, the systems were employed for SERS application in fibroblast and revealed to be very promising as building block for biosensors or biophotonics devices. Overall, the work is well written and the novelty is good. Moreover, it falls within the scope of the journal and data and images are clearly reported.

I suggest to accept the present work after updating the introduction with the most recent used of halloysite nanotubes.

Author Response

We thank the reviewer for the high evaluation of our work and useful remarks, which are taken into account in the revised version of manuscript.

Reviewer 3 Report

This is a well-written manuscript on an interesting topic, which I am happy to recommend for publication in Applied Sciences.  Given that the term "biophotonic applications" appears in the title, abstract and conclusions, the authors might want to provide a potential example of this, say in the conclusions.

Author Response

We thank the Reviewer for the evaluation of our work and useful criticism, which is taken into account in the revised version of manuscript. In particular,  additional discussion of potential biophotonic applications of the reported results is added in the Conclusions.
