The Moderating Effect of Debriefing on Learning Outcomes of IVR-Based Instruction: An Experimental Research
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
This paper reports a study about the effect of a debriefing strategy on knowledge and on behaviour, in the framework of an immersive virtual reality (IVR) learning experience. The introduction properly justifies the study and section 2 presents a good summary on the use of IVR and of debriefing in the context of education. The novelties of the work are the implementation of this strategy in a IVR environment, the seperate assessment of the impact on knowledge and behaviour and the recommendations on how to implement debriefing in such context. The conclusions are supported by the results and the authors clearly acknowledge the main limitations of the study. They should also recognize that the debriefing strategy depends on the subject being taught and on the level that it is approched.

Reviewer 2 Report
The article presents a relevant topic, and the background biographical references are updated. It gathers the most pertinent aspects of the theoretical approach underlying the study. Perhaps the introduction could be simplified so that its reading would be more straightforward and more attractive to the reader. The literature review could include some points. Although I am not an expert in quantitative analysis, the methodology seems the right one from my point of view. The discussion and conclusions are adequate. I would recommend that acronyms are used less frequently and, above all, always defined the first time they are introduced (For example, "IVR learning program" in the abstract).
