1) Interesting article but needs to be more clear of the “milestones”. The preservation via conservation and/or prohibit use of road salt for ice must pinpoint the type of milestonre material in all cases are these metal/iron, wood, stone and what stone. As it is written is vague. 2) Updated case studies and recent bibliography should be included Fadi Bala'awi, Yahya Alshawabkeh , Eyad Al Masri and Mairna H. Mustafa (2018) SALT DAMAGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: A THERMODYNAMIC APPROACH FROM THE NORTHERN ROMAN THEATER IN JERASH, JORDAN. Mediterranean Archaeology and Archaeometry, Vol. 18, No 2, pp. 49-66 DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.1297147 Qin Zhen (2021) EXPLORING THE EARLY ANTHROPOCENE: IMPLICATIONS FROM THE LONG-TERM HUMAN– CLIMATE INTERACTIONS IN EARLY CHINA. Mediterranean Archaeology and Archaeometry Vol. 21, No 1, pp. 133-148. DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.4394053 The need for conservation is also important, see: Shaimaa Sayed Mohamed El-Sayed (2021) the effect of the geological nature of siwa oasis on the deterioration of archaeological and historical buildings (the temple of oracle and shali castle). SCIENTIFIC CULTURE, Vol. 7, No. 3, pp. 93-104. DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.5062877 Then hyperspectral imaging is important to apply combining monuments and environmental conditions using UAV and amongst others classified dense cloud is recorded for Ground, Vegetation and Structures eg : John N. Hatzopoulos et al (2017) use of various surveying technologies to 3d digital mapping and modelling of cultural heritage structures for maintenance and restoration purposes: the tholos in Delphi, Greece. Mediterranean Archaeology and Archaeometry, Vol. 17 No 3, pp. 311-336 . DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.1048937Author Response
