Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear Authors,

This is a well written article. Flowing lecture and

You can find my observations below.

Introduction should better clarify the novelty of this contribution. In particular, which is the innovative aspect in reference to your previuosly published papers listen in the references?

Is the reference 7 really needed?

You should deeper explain, in the discussion, results comparison with 2 and 16.

Comments on “A Monolithic Approach of Fluid-Structure Interaction by Discrete Mechanics”

1-  There are minor writing typos in the manuscript, which should be addressed in the next version.
2-  What is the novelty of the work compared with similar formulation on FSI?
3-  The question is that what is the main contribution of this modelling framework? It has not been elaborated in the paper. Authors need to put more effort in shaping up the introduction by reflecting the problem statement and narrow the story down to it. It is vague in the present form.
4-  Model needs a robust validation and verification against experimental data or at least a visualisation study. Can author validate their model partly?
5-  A schematic diagram of the problem should be added to the paper including boundary conditions, assumptions and an algorithm of solution. Methodology needs substantial work.
