Section Information

Childhood, adolescent, and young adult oncology focuses on malignant diseases in the age group of 0–39 years. This age group is different from the adult oncology age group regarding tumor entities, treatment, and supportive care, as a few examples. For pediatric and adolescent cancer, long-term survival rates are high, but so is the rate of late effects. Aspects of vocational care, fertility, or body image are different from those of adult oncology.

The aim of this section is to publish high-quality manuscripts that will contribute to the field of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult oncology. We are interested in manuscripts of relevance across the trajectory of cancer (including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, survivorship, end of life, and bereavement).

Manuscripts can focus on research, practice, education, administration, or policy. Topics could include, but are not limited to, the following:

Epidemiology;
Cancer predisposition syndromes;
Radiology;
Diagnosis (pathology and genomics);
Tumor entities (leukemia and lymphoma, solid tumors, neuro-oncology);
Treatment (chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, stem cell transplantation, immunotherapy, targeted therapy);
Clinical trials;
Survivorship care and late effects;
Supportive care;
Psycho-oncology;
Palliative care;
Pediatric, adolescent, and young adult oncology in developing countries.
