Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The contemporary development of the energy sector is closely tied to the advanced application of mathematical methods, which play a key role in energy management and in modern areas such as the integration of renewable energy sources (RESs), optimization of power networks, energy consumption forecasting, and the advancement of smart energy systems.

Progress in applied mathematics enables efficient modeling, analysis, and control of energy systems, contributing to their greater reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. At the same time, the dynamic technological development requires the creation of new methods for prediction, optimization, and monitoring that address contemporary challenges in energy systems.

The aim of this Special Issue is to present the latest advancements in the application of advanced mathematical methods in the energy sector.

The topics of the publication include the following:

  • Modeling of energy systems, including power networks, RES systems, and microgrids;
  • Optimization of design and operational processes in energy systems;
  • Prediction and forecasting of energy demand using statistical and machine learning methods;
  • Reliability and safety analysis of power systems;
  • Designing intelligent energy management systems using mathematical methods;
  • Investigation of dynamic processes in energy systems;
  • Development of monitoring methods for energy system states.

The publications in this Special Issue combine advanced theory with practical applications, offering innovative approaches to addressing key challenges in modern energy. This Special Issue supports interdisciplinary research and its implementation in the energy sector, contributing to its sustainable development.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
