Dear Colleagues,
The quality of human life is improving with the development of materials from very different areas of applications. Medicine, environment, food industry, and energy can be considered as such fields. Biomedical materials and devices include drugs for the medical therapy of diseases, biomaterial-based systems for controlled drug delivery, and biocompatible materials for treating and recovering human tissues. Modern biomaterial systems consider a biomimetic approach to recover human tissues or functions. Biocompatible materials generally include metals, ceramics, polymers, gels, and composite materials. To prevent the many risks of various diseases, premature aging, and industrial disasters, improvement of the environment is urgently need. The demand for cost-effective, eco-friendly materials has increased to reduce waste management and pollution issues. The reduction of polluting emissions into soil, water, and air, as well as the improvement of instruments for monitoring these emissions, are tasks of current interest. The development of sustainable and environmentally friendly components in construction materials is currently highly important. Systems for energy distribution and storage not only provide the means to attain a high level of human life, regarding energy carriers; they are also the key to the normal functioning of various technical devices. The progress of the study of materials for improving human life depends on the application of efficient characterization techniques to evaluate key physical and chemical parameters with target properties. The various types of microscopy and spectroscopy are the key methods for the investigation of these characteristics. In this Special Issue, we intend to present studies of various type of materials for improving human life using microscopy and spectroscopy methods. It is our pleasure to invite you to contribute your research article, communication, or review for this Special Issue.
