Green Materials
A section of Materials (ISSN 1996-1944).
Section Information
“Green Materials” are understood as materials that are sourced from local renewable resources. They are environmentally responsible because impacts are considered over their extended life. All material classes are considered, including metals, ceramics, polymers, and their composites. The Section covers all aspects of the green materials field, welcoming papers spanning all phases of material life, from the synthesis, processing, and characterization to testing. Both experimental and theoretical studies will be covered.
The topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Circular economy and materials;
- Reclaimed and recyclable materials;
- Energy- and resource-efficient material processing technologies and systems;
- New methods and frameworks for assessing the environmental impact of materials;
- Supply chains for green materials;
- Reclaiming, remanufacturing, and recycling technologies.
