Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Shotcrete is a kind of special civil-engineering technology. Shotcrete material is transported with the introduction of compressed air through the pipeline and then sprayed on the sprayed surface. Because of its high construction efficiency and good sealing structure, it is widely used in underground engineering, slope support, road traffic, and other fields. However, in the current shotcrete process, some problems such as the flow characteristics of cross-scale particles in pipeline pumping, the development of shotcrete materials and equipment, the process of shotcrete, the concrete deterioration mechanism in special environments such as high temperature and high pressure, etc., restrict the development of shotcrete towards a more efficient and safer direction. Therefore, the exchange and discussion of shotcrete is helpful for the safe and efficient development of underground space and ground buildings.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following: shotcrete, ultra-high-performance concrete, concrete deterioration mechanisms in special environments, air-entrained concrete, thin-layer shotcrete, etc.

Materials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
