Society logo

The Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology (CSMNT) was officially established on April 5th, 2005, and is affiliated with Tsinghua University and in the charge of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China. Binglin Gu, academician at CAS and former president of Tsinghua University, was the first and second chairman of CSMNT; Zheng You, academician at CAE and former vice president of Tsinghua University, was the third chairman of the Society; and Wenhui Duan, academician at CAS and professor in the Department of Physics of Tsinghua University, is currently the fourth chairman.

Micro/nano technology belongs to an emerging field of study that connects high-level technology with basic research. It encompasses the application of cutting-edge science and technology in a range of disciplines, such as electronics, machinery, materials, manufacturing, testing, as well as physics, chemistry and biology, and has been made possible due to technological innovation and thinking. Micro/nano technology is considered an emerging science in the 21st century; in recent years, it has developed rapidly and led to significant advancements worldwide. This technology is now starting to exert a far-reaching influence on human beings, even changing individuals’ way of thinking and living.

The Chinese Society of Micro/Nano Technology, dedicated to promoting the research and industrialization of micro/nano technology, is a voluntarily and lawful social organization, and also a national non-profit academic group. By connecting researchers working in micro/nanotechnology, CSMNT is motivating the development of China's micro/nanotechnology.

Spanish Carbon Group (GEC)

Society logo

The Spanish Carbon Group (GEC) was born in 1990 from the common desire of a group of people, companies, and public as well as private institutions related to science and technology, with the aim of facilitating the dissemination and exchange of knowledge between different R&D agents derived from the use of carbon and carbon materials, especially on all those aspects related to energy and environmental applications. At present, the GEC has over 300 members and its main objectives are to promote relationships between Spanish research groups, to support the training of new researchers and technicians in this field of knowledge, to disseminate science, technology, and any other aspect related to the use of carbon and carbon-based materials, and to serve as a meeting point for researchers, students, producers, and users. The GEC organises biannual scientific congresses under the common name of “Reunión del Grupo Español del Carbón", as well as specialised training courses and scientific conferences for young researchers. It is also a member of the European Carbon Association (ECA), which organises the International Carbon Conference (CARBON) every three years. https://www.gecarbon.org.
