Dear Colleagues,
Today, polycrystalline, monocrystalline and amorphous magnetic materials have almost completely exhausted themselves and no longer satisfy the needs of developers. Composite magnetic materials can be a good alternative. Of the great variety of magnetic composites, those with the fastest pace are currently magnetic polymer composites (MPCs). MPCs are used as magnetic media for spintronics and memory devices, as photochromic magnetic materials, radio-absorbing materials, magnetostrictive materials, magnetoplastics and magnetoelasts, dampers, and others.
In this Special Issue titled "Magnetic Polymer Composites. Obtaining, Properties and Application", the methods of obtaining magnetic polymer composites, the modification of their properties and structure by the influence of electric and magnetic fields, and the modeling of these polymer materials are considered.
Special attention is paid to the structure of MPCs, as well as their properties, depending on the type of matrix and magnetic filler. The greatest attention is paid to MPCs with fillers in the form of elementary magnets (Fe, Ni, Co) and their alloys (FeNi, NiCo, FeCo, FeNiCo), as well as oxide magnets—in particular ferrites—and magnets in the form of amorphous magnetic materials. This Special Issue considers the mechanical, electrophysical, and magnetic properties of MPCs, as well as the piezoresistivity, agnitoresistivity, magnetic spin interactions, photoconductivity, magnetostriction and other properties. MPCs with fillers in the form of magnetic nanoparticles, as well as MPCs with additives of ferroelectric fillers are also considered.
Issues of the practical application of MPCs are considered. Particular attention is paid to the use of MPCs as magnetic media for recording information and for spintronics, radio-absorbing materials, photochromic materials and materials for magnetostrictive transducers.
