Towards Novel Nutritional Strategies in Gestational Diabetes: Eating Behaviour and Obesity in Women with Gestational Diabetes Compared with Non-Pregnant Adults
Abstract
:1. Introduction
2. Materials and Methods
2.1. Study Design and Ethical Approvals
- A standard clinical 75g OGTT in accordance with the guidelines of the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) including glucose ≥5.6 mmol/L (101 mg/dL) fasting and/or glucose ≥7.8 mmol/L (140 mg/dL) at 2 h [23].
- In women with previous gestational diabetes or who were unable to tolerate an oral glucose tolerance test, regular glucometer readings above NICE criteria targets [24].
- An HbA1c ≥ 39 mmol/mol during the COVID-19 pandemic, in line with the interim recommendations of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists [25].
